 A Susurrus of Wind (Sasuke)

Currently, Temari's opinion that it was a good idea to leave her brother Kankuro to his own devices was becoming increasingly positive. While she had been gone, work had begun to pile up, and there were some trading and other sorts of documents that needed to be safely transported. Having already stopped in several more remote establishments over the course of recent recent history. Now, she just needed to transport a few last documents to Konoha, each of varying importance, most for the sake of formality. Then again, that was the assumption, but Temari knew better. Now that Gaara was no longer Kazekage, the alliance wasn't quite as indisputable as it had been. She had every intention of doing what she could to keep it intact.

Though she was still quite a while away from Konoha, Temari was enjoying her journey. Unlike the tiresome, nerve-frying journey she had been on with Kankuro, Karii, and Shino, she was able to enjoy her surroundings and didn't have to worry about protecting anyone but herself. Today, even the wind felt alive to her. Some might see the weather as a bit gloomy and depressing, but Temari relished in it. The grey, looming clouds were generating high winds, much to her liking. Part of the reason she wore her hair the way she did was so that she wouldn't have a reason not to enjoy the wind.

While running on the ground, Temari came to a cliff. Smirking to herself, she pulled her fan off of her back and opened it to the first star as she jumped off the cliff. She stood on it, like an airborne surfboard, and plummeted straight down, taking advantage of the immense height of the cliff face. Right before hitting the trees below, Temari yanked up on the metal portion and slid it open to all three stars. The speedy plummet turned in to a gentle glide, driven further than usual by the high winds. Sure, Temari could always travel this way if she wanted to, but when there wasn't a lot of wind, it took up a lot of chakra, thus making it impractical.

Hearing a distant thunderclap, Temari frowned. Just when I was having a bit of fun... Slowing down, Temari floated to the ground when she found an open patch in the tree canopy, nimbly jumping off of her fan before it hit the ground. It was soon back in its customary place on her back. Walking, Temari thought about her options. If it's going to rain, I need to find shelter. I either need to find a cave, a wayward pine, or a town. Unfortunately, I don't know where the nearest one of any of those are since I've never approached Konoha from this direction.

With that on her mind, Temari strode ahead. Though she was enjoying the rustling sounds of the leaves, she was still alert for anyone who might approach. If Temari was anything, she was smart enough to know not to let her guard down.

Frustrated, Sasuke walked down one of the many paths that led to Konoha but in the opposite direction. He had hired an information broker to find out about the medallion that he now possessed. The agent had found out nothing except that they each allowed access to a certain element which Sasuke had already deduced. All the information broker had done was waste his money and time, although neither had much value to him he had grown frustrated because no results had been produced. Sasuke tried to think of something else so he wouldn't be easily tempted to attack the next person he saw.

The Uchiha focused his mind on the surrounding area. The Land of Fire might have held bad memories but Sasuke could not deny that it was one of the most beautiful countries in the world, much more beautiful then Wind and Earth country where he had been spending his time the past two weeks. He looked up only to see rain clouds in the distance. It was just his luck that it would rain now. His observant eye also saw something else or rather someone else. Just off a cliff, not that far away, someone was gliding down toward the ground. It didn't seem that they had a parachute so Sasuke was rather intrigued if he had just witnessed someone attempt some daredevil suicide attempt.

Sasuke let whatever he had seen slip his find as it began to drizzle. Unless he wanted to get wet it would be unwise to stay outside. Hopefully there would be a cave or some shelter near by like like in Suna. The missing-nin meandered forward making sure to keep an out for anything to protect him from the rain.

While on his search for a shelter Sasuke noticed an indistguishible figure appear over the horizon. Not willing to take chances his eyes transformed from a black to a red color. Hoping that whomever was approaching was merely a traveler that he could "shake down" for some food, he withdrew his sword. The figure grew closer and closer and the Uchiha started to recognize who it was. A few moments later when the traveler was within earshot Sasuke noticed who it was. "Temari...." he said with a small smile. His eyes returned to normal and his sword was placed within its holster. He was assuming that no battle would take place given their last encounter. "Your going to get sick out here." he commented. It was still only drizziling but the thunder was growing louder and the clouds closer.

(Please forgive the lack of creativity ><)

Temari frowned slightly in reflex as it started to drizzle, bordering more on misting than real rain. It wasn't that she didn't like the rain. It was a rare treat. It was just that it made traveling and making camp outdoors a bit more on the miserable side if proper shelter was not located. She had every intention of finding such a remedy.

As she continued down her route, Temari peered through the precipitation and spotted a shadowy figure. She pulled out her fan to keep it at the ready, but she continued walking. For all she knew, it could just be a local that was about to get caught up in a storm. If it was, maybe she could ask for directions to the nearest village.

It didn't take long to figure out just who it was. Though her hopes of getting directions just flew out the window, Temari was not disappointed that she had run in to Sasuke. She had been wondering just when they would meet again, and it hadn't taken as long as she thought it would. She smiled, just a bit. "Hello there Sasuke."

She put her fan back in its sash when Sasuke put his sword away. It looked like the nature of their relationship that had been established back at the cave was still in play, much to her relief. She really didn't want to get in a fight with someone who was adept at using lightning jutsu during a thunderstorm. She wasn't certain of just what advantages he would have, but she didn't want to think about it.

Temari casually shrugged and looked up at the sky when Sasuke said she would get a cold. "Unlikely. My arms and face are pretty much the only parts of me that could get wet." True, her lower legs were not protected from the weather, but unless it was a horizontal wind, they would still stay pretty dry.

"What about you? Planning on hunkering down and riding this storm out? I'm no expert, but it looks like it's going to be a big one." As if to accent her words, a peal of thunder rolled across the skies as the wind began to slowly pick up. If this kept up, no one would want to stay out in this weather if they had a choice.
