General Board Rules
Respect Be respectful to all members. No degrading comments concerning race, religion, gender, ect. Respect the staff members at all times. Even if you have a problem and you don’t feel they are handling it the way you think it should be, still be polite.
Language Cursing will be allowed since we aren’t going to act like old men and say ‘Dag nabit’ all the time. But keep it minimal. I don’t want to see half the post consisting of vulgar language. I’m going to include intamicy in here as well. It’s allowed but in the M rated board. You will need a password for that one. PM a staff member for it, but you must have a good reason for needing it.[Do not ask for the password just because you want to know who posted there. You must NEED to get in there for a violent or sexual thread to be allowed access. Don't bother asking if you're not going to post in there.]
God-modding and Power playing NO! Just no. None of that. There are no indestructible characters. There is no deciding what the other player will do. There is no constantly dodging or blocking attacks.
Killing You can kill an NPC. That means a civilian not held by an actual character. No killing another player unless you have permission from them and have alerted the staff.
Signatures and Avatars Avatars of the character are not required. But signatures are. They must be 500x200 pixels or smaller. This is for a few reasons. One to keep it neat and consistant. Two, to save the board from being stretched or having to scroll a thousand times to get to the next post. Three, in case someone has a slow internet connection. Smaller images will help load faster.
Extention on that rule Custom characters may NOT use pictures of easily recognized characters. EX. Using Renji from Bleach for your character. That’s a no-no.
Multiple characters You may have up to six characters. Two canons and four customs. Make a separate account for each to keep things a little less confusing. Please, don’t make all the characters from the same village. Variety, the spice of life.
Posts I would prefer that all posts are at least 2 paragraphs[5-7 sentences]. I understand that everyone loses their muse from time to time. As long as it isn’t every post, a paragraph will be acceptable. Also, color coding the dialog is important. It helps what's said pop out more and makes it easier to read.
Post count This is an extension of sorts for the multiple character rules. Each character must have 25In Character posts before another character can be gotten. No posts that are not in the RP AREA will be counted towards your post count to get another character.
Inactive/Finished Threads One week without posting in a thread is considered inactive. Finished threads should be brought to a staff members attention by one of the people involved in the thread. All threads will be placed in the Dead Threads board to minimize clutter and keep the rest of the RP area looking nice. If a thread has been moved there and is required for continuing RPing, PM a staff member, they will put it back and unlock it for you.
Liquid Roleplaying This site does allow liquid roleplaying, or posting in more than one thread at a time. It is preferable that one character is not in more than two or three threads at a time due to storyline confusion. It is not necessary, however, that everyone must RP like this. It is up to the member if they would like to keep their posting to one thread at a time.
Any rule breaking will earn in a warning, a temporary ban, then permanent banning. This is subject to change do to severity of the offence.
Character Rules
Canons
Knowledge Please know your character. Know their personality, their history. Copy and pasted profiles will not be accepted. I like to see that you know the person you're playing well. This application will tell me how well you can get into the canon’s head. Aging Since this is set 10 years in the future, you are allowed to expand on the history and personality. You may add scars and such if you’d like. But make it plausible. EX. Sasuke is a darker character. He’s broody. I highly doubt he’ll be coming back as Mr. Sunshine.
Custom
Lower ranked characters Remember, these are STUDENTS. They will make mistakes. They won’t be able to get a jutsu on the first try. They need to practice. Advancing Between the ranks of Chuunin and Jounin, the advancement will go by a few factors : How quickly the character learns and masters techniques, how well they develop character wise, and over all skill. There are specific ways[links provided below] for genin and chuunin to advance. Please check those out. Rank and Age Genin : 10 - 13[on average] Chuunin : 13 – 18 Jonin : 18 + Clans We are now allowing custom clan members from canon clans. There are a few restrictions though. We will not permit Uchiha. And all clans that don't get as much play are open.
General for Customs
Strength Strong characters are, of course, allowed, but we don't want to go over Kishimoto's standards. We won't allow people that can say that they are better than Kakashi and Itachi, being chuunin at 9 and all that. That doesn't mean there isn't a way you can't beat the canons, but you cannot be above and beyond them. Jutsu We are trying to keep the limit of jutsu per character roughly around 15. And character specific jutsu are prohibited. If you want a jutsu that is held by one or two canons[Ex. Rasengan, Chidori, ect.], you must ask them to teach it to you and it will be up to the person playing the character if they think it likely their character will randomly teach it to someone. Restrictions We do have restrictions on a few things because of too many of this or that thing. You must read them and you must comply with them, no arguing. You can find the restrictions here.
